| Comments: Dorothy has found her new home with the Nichols family. She was not shy or hesitant at the appointment like we worried she might be. In fact, right after we walked in the door, I took her off leash and she running around like she owned the place. After exploring the house (probably looking for the perfect place to curl up for her afternoon nap), she then made sure to go up to everyone and jump up on their leg so they could give her some love and scratches. Dorothy will have a great big yard to explore every day, supervised of course. She did great with the kids, but I have a feeling she might just become Daddy and Grandpa's little girl. She seemed to really like Kenneth and Mark, and seemed really drawn to both of them. But she warmed up to everyone really quickly, and made herself at home on the couch with the family, asking each of them for a little bit of attention. They were impressed at her temperament, and how quiet and well-behaved she was. The family took a vote, everyone raised a hand in favor of adopting her and adding her to the family, and so we made it official. Dorothy had a very happy look on her face as I was getting ready to leave, and I know she'll be a very loved and happy little dog in her new home. |

| General Comments: Dortohy is a quiet, unassuming gal who does not demand much in her life. Her favorite way to pass the time is to be cuddle up on her favorite person's lap for a good snuggling session. She has proven to be quite the lap dog! She also is known for giving the sweetest soft kisses. Dorothy appreciates a more laid back, quiet lifestyle. She currently shares her home with a canine foster sibling and kitties. At this point, Dorothy is leery of the cats and will avoid them at all costs, so we do believe she can co-exist with felines, but she's not looking to make friends with them anytime soon. :) Dorothy is also fine co-existing with another mellow dog, but she is not interested in playing, or interacting in any way. She would do just fine as a one and only princess as well. Dorothy is just a doll! She's sweet as pie and would be a wonderful little companion. Her looks are quite unique, and she is more of a "heinz 57"! Her fosters see what could be some dacshund in her as well, but whatever her mix is, she is adorable! She has great goofy ears. One flops, and the other one sticks either straight up or straight out. :) She has the prettiest little brown eyes. Dorothy weighs in at exactly 20 pounds at this time. If you are looking for a lower maintenance, easy going smaller dog who loves to be at your side, Dorothy could be your gal! | ||||||
