Obi is a real character who is quite simply a lot of fun to be around.
This handsome guy is a former stray who was marked as one of the feral crowd, feral meaning not socialized with people. We respectfully disagree as we have found Obi to be very sweet, friendly, and affectionate!
Obi cracks us up when it comes to playtime. Obi runs, plays, chases balls, hunts feather wands, and is generally all over the place pursuing anything that resembles a toy. He plays so hard that without warning, he suddenly lies down and can barely keep his eyes open. He literally plays until he drops! Obi is always trying to engage his feline friends in playtime, so much so, that alas, he sometimes annoys them with his playful overtures.
Obi holds the dubious distinction of being one of the messiest eaters we’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Makes you wonder how much food he actually ingests when you see bits of food haphazardly surrounding his bowl in a wide circumference. One volunteer even witnessed Obi shaking his head while he had food in his mouth which caused chunks of food to randomly decorate the nearby wall. Got to give the guy a break, not only is he new to “civilized” society having been out on the streets for who knows how long, but he’s also recovering from a cold that probably makes it somewhat challenging to eat and breathe at the same time!
Our boy loves attention and loves the companionship of people and other friendly kitties. Obi will make a wonderful companion to whoever opens their heart and home to this former street cat!
